CUT FILE PROTOCOL
Below you will find the detail on how we need your cut file prepared before you submit them to Multi-Cut CNC.
1 - Measure the actual size of your sheet:
3050mm
Length
Sheet Size - 3050 x 1500mm
Width
1500mm
2 - Setting up your cut file
-
When setting up your cut file, it's best practice to make your artboard the same size as the material you're using - we can cut up to 4100x2150mm.
-
Ensure that you are working in RGB mode (File-->Document Colour Mode-->RGB).
-
Check that all your measurements are in mm so that we cut everything to the right scale.
-
Any lines which are to be cut through the material should be drawn in RGB Red with a thickness of 0.25pt in Illustrator, or hairline in Corel Draw.
-
Vector engraving is produced in the same way as a cut line, but just marks the surface rather than going all the way through the material.
-
Vector engrave lines should be drawn in RGB Blue with a thickness of 0.25pt in Illustrator, or hairline in Corel Draw.
-
Recesses should be drawn in Green with a thickness of 0.25pt in Illustrator, or hairline in Corel Draw.
3050mm
1500mm
Sheet Size - 3050 x 1500mm
3 - Nesting your object on the actual size of your sheet:
3050mm
When nesting your objects, be sure to leave a 10mm gap between objects and all edges. If you are using wood, leave a 20mm gap.
IMPORTANT
1500mm
Sheet Size - 3050 x 1500mm
4 - Check List:
-
Ensure that you place the number of pieces required on the sheet - if you need 5 circles cut, place 5 circles on the sheet.
-
Tile your pieces to get the most out of your material - sometimes this works best if you rotate shapes by 180 degrees to enable them to tessellate.
-
Make sure you leave at least 10mm between each item & 10mm from edge of your sheet to be cut. On wood minimum 20mm between & from edge of sheet.
-
Make sure you don't have any duplicated lines or intersecting lines (all lines to be polylines eg. Closed loops), these can cause problems with the G code programing
-
Ungroup all items on the sheet.
-
Remove any clipping masks
-
Are all your lines 0.01mm / 0.25pt thick?
-
Are all your cut lines RGB red?
-
Are all your vector engraved (V-Cut) lines RGB blue?
-
Are all your recess lines in green?
-
Please save your finished cut file in one or more of these formats: DXF, PDF (Vectorised) Corel Draw, AI or EPS.
